Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using V3Code ("Service"), operated by K&D Labs ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

V3Code is an AI-assisted code editor. The desktop editor is free to download and use with your own AI provider API keys (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and others) — V3Code connects to those providers on your behalf. Optional paid plans add hosted models and related account features such as billing, usage metering, and support. We are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any AI provider.

3. Account Registration

The editor itself does not require an account. An account with a valid email address is required for hosted plans, billing, and other online account features. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

4. Billing

The editor is free. Paid subscriptions add hosted models and are billed through Stripe. Plans and pricing are listed on our pricing page. All fees are charged in USD. If a promotional trial or introductory token grant is offered, its specific terms are stated where it is offered.

Subscriptions renew automatically each billing cycle. You may cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

5. Refund Policy

We offer a full refund within 7 days of your first payment, no questions asked. After 7 days, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. See our Refund Policy for full details.

6. API Keys (BYOK)

V3Code operates on a "Bring Your Own Key" (BYOK) model. You provide API keys from third-party providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, OpenRouter, etc.). Your keys are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before storage and are never shared with third parties.

You are responsible for any usage charges incurred on your third-party API accounts. V3Code does not add markup to API costs.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Attempt to bypass safety filters or the approval queue
• Attempt to access another user's data or account
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
• Use the Service to generate harmful, abusive, or illegal content
• Exceed reasonable usage limits or abuse system resources
• Resell or redistribute access to the Service without permission

8. Safety and Approval Queue

Certain AI tools and actions are classified as dangerous (e.g., shell commands, file deletion, browser automation). These actions are blocked by default and require explicit user approval through the approval queue before execution. This is a core safety feature of the Service.

9. User Liability for External Actions

You are solely responsible and liable for any actions performed through the Service that affect any person, entity, system, or service outside of V3Code. This includes, but is not limited to, actions taken by the AI assistant on your behalf — such as sending communications, modifying external systems, executing code that interacts with third-party services, accessing external APIs, or any other activity that impacts parties beyond v3code.dev.

V3Code provides safety filters and an approval queue as safeguards, but the existence of these features does not transfer or reduce your liability. If you approve an action, disable safety features, or configure the Service in a way that causes harm to any third party, you bear full responsibility for any resulting damages, legal claims, or consequences.

V3Code, its operators (K&D Labs), and affiliates shall not be held liable for any damages, losses, claims, or expenses arising from your use of the Service that affects third parties. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless V3Code and its operators from any claims, damages, or costs (including legal fees) arising from your actions through the Service.

10. User Data and Privacy

Each user receives an isolated data directory. We do not access, share, or sell your data, conversation logs, or API keys. See our Privacy Policy for full details on data handling.

11. Intellectual Property

V3Code's interface, themes, branding, and proprietary code are owned by us. V3Code is built on open-source software (including components under permissive licenses such as MIT). Content you create using the Service belongs to you.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. AI-generated output may be inaccurate and should be reviewed before use.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, V3Code shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or profits.

14. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a notice on the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
